There’s more to athletics than the fans and the players. If there weren’t professionals to market the team or player, connect the fanbase to the athlete, sell the tickets, and oversee office operations, athletic associations and leagues would cease to exist.

Breaking into the world of sport management and administration is not an easy task. The office is just as competitive as the field. You’ve got to be on your A-game. Having a Master of Arts in Sport Management and Administration will provide an advantage as you establish yourself in the industry. Plus, the extra education will set you apart while you move through the ranks.

To be successful in athletics, you have to be committed to the sport and to the business side of the job. Having an advanced degree separates you from the pack and shows your dedication to mastering your craft.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports the marketing profession will grow at a higher than average pace through 2026. At a 10 percent growth rate, marketing managers overall have a sunny professional outlook. Certainly, sport management and administration is more than just marketing, but it represents a sizable portion of the responsibilities and job descriptions for the field.

At SNU, you can earn your M.A. by taking classes one night a week at our Bethany campus, or enrolling online. Our students have access to networking opportunities with organizations such as the Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Pistons. In sport management and administration, experience and networking is invaluable. It’s a much smaller community than you would think.

Graduates of the Sport Management and Administration program can go on to have positions in teaching, athletic administration, event promotion and management for professional, educational, and league sport organizations.
